Important Government Disclaimer Patriot Prep ("we", "our", or "us") is an independent educational and test-preparation application. Patriot Prep is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or operated in partnership with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), or any other agency or body of the United States Government. All civics test study questions and answers included within the app are derived from publicly available educational resources published by USCIS for public study purposes. Official United States government immigration forms, official exam requirements, and testing guidelines are available directly and free of charge at www.uscis.gov.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Patriot Prep collects, uses, protects, and discloses personal data and information when you install, browse, or use the Patriot Prep: US Citizenship 2026 mobile application (the "App") available on Google Play.

We are dedicated to safeguarding your personal privacy. We only collect the minimal information necessary to deliver educational features, track your learning progress, synchronize your study records across devices, and maintain the functionality and security of the application.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information to provide you with a smooth and personalized learning experience:

A. Account & Authentication Information

When you sign in using Google Sign-In (powered by Google Firebase Authentication), we receive standard profile data authorized by your Google account permissions:

Your full name and display name
Your email address
Your profile avatar / photo URL
A unique Firebase user identification string (UID)

You may also choose to use the app in guest or offline mode with local device storage without signing in.

B. Study Progress & User Data

To help you prepare for the naturalization exam, the app records your educational progress, including:

Completed lessons and modules
Flashcard confidence ratings and review intervals
Simulated civics test scores, answer histories, and timestamps
Questions bookmarked or flagged for further review
App display and study preferences (e.g., selected study language and state/territory for elected official questions)

This data is stored locally on your device and, if signed in, synchronized securely to your personal account via Google Cloud Firestore.

C. In-App Purchase & Billing Information

If you purchase premium upgrades or test bundles, all transactions are processed solely and securely by Google Play In-App Billing. Patriot Prep does not collect, receive, store, or process any payment card details, bank account numbers, or billing addresses. All billing data is governed by Google Play's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

D. Diagnostic, Crash & Performance Telemetry

We may receive non-personally identifiable diagnostic, crash, and performance telemetry through Google Play Console and Firebase Crashlytics / Performance Monitoring. This includes device model, operating system version, app version, and technical crash stack traces to help us identify and fix software bugs.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information strictly for legitimate educational and application purposes:

To authenticate and maintain your user session.
To save and synchronize your test scores, study progress, and bookmarks across multiple devices.
To tailor your review questions and focus on areas where you need additional practice.
To provide customer support and respond to your inquiries.
To maintain, troubleshoot, improve, and optimize the security and performance of the application.

We do NOT sell, rent, monetize, or trade your personal data to any third-party advertisers or data brokers under any circumstances.

Our application integrates trusted third-party services provided by Google LLC:

Google Firebase Authentication: Used to provide secure login credentials.

We take reasonable and appropriate technical and organizational measures to safeguard your personal data:

All communication between the App and backend servers is encrypted using industry-standard Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS).
Cloud Firestore database records are strictly governed by granular access control security rules, ensuring users can only read and write their own data records.

6. Data Retention and Account & Data Deletion

We retain your personal data and study records for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide you with the services of the App.

How to Delete Your Account and Data:

You have the right to request the permanent deletion of your account and all associated personal and study data at any time:

In-App Deletion: Navigate to the Profile or Settings tab within the App and select "Delete Account" (when signed in).
Email Request: You may also submit a deletion request directly by emailing our support team at uic.19mca8068@gmail.com with the subject line "Account & Data Deletion Request" and your registered email address.

Upon receiving your request, we will permanently remove your user authentication record and delete all associated study data from our Firestore database within thirty (30) days.

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Patriot Prep is designed for adult learners and young adults (ages 13 and older) studying for the United States Naturalization Civics Test. The App does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will promptly delete that information from our servers.
